There will be no other scheduled events Wednesday evening.  Also please note there will be no Wednesday evening Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent.

Penitential Service:  Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 6:30 PM 

The Sacrament of Reconciliation affords us the opportunity to address the faults and failings that weaken our relationship with the Lord.  Come and receive this sacramental gift of forgiving grace and healing.

Healing Masses:  Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 5:15 PM in English and 7:00 PM in Spanish

Bible Studies:

  • Adult Faith Enrichment – Sundays 9:15 AM – This Lenten season, our focus is Creating Sabbath space in our lives.  These sessions are facilitated by adult catechists.
  • Wednesdays “Beginning Theology” at 9:30 AM (excluding Ash Wednesday).  This class is taught by Fr. Bob
  • Catholic Scripture Study – the study of 2nd Corinthians:  Tuesdays a 10:00 AM session is facilitated by Monica Ebelhack, and an evening session is facilitated by Dr. Andrew (and Shelby) Chesson at 6:45 PM.
  • Small Faith Communities meet and will be studying “Catholicism” by Fr. Robert Barron

All for the reasonable price of $8 for adults, $4 for children (age 12 and under); family maximum of $25 (two adults and 3 or more children).  A great time, great food, great friends….and you don’t have to cook!  Tickets sold at the door.  Takeout available. ]]> http://www.staloysiushickory.org/lenten-fish-fry-days/feed 0 Battered Women’s Shelter Drive http://www.staloysiushickory.org/battered-womens-shelter-drive http://www.staloysiushickory.org/battered-womens-shelter-drive#comments Sat, 11 Feb 2012 02:29:08 +0000 admin http://www.staloysiushickory.org/?p=4952 February is St. Aloysius’ month to collect items for the Battered Women’s Shelter.  They desperately need maternity clothes, laundry baskets, cooking utensils, handheld mixers, food storage containers with lids, women’s tennis shoes – all sizes, under the bed storage bins, and shoe racks.  Also needed are: baby wipes, baby shampoo, baby powder, baby wash, shaving cream, feminine hygiene items (especially pads), ladies’ undergarments (new only, all sizes), hair conditioner, bath soap, rubber safety mat for tub, paper towels, napkins, toilet paper, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, bleach, antibacterial cleaning wipes, toilet bowl cleaners, shower cleaners, non-perishable food items, lamps (neutral color/brass), towels, washcloths, pillows, hairdryers, large durable flashlight and batteries, umbrellas,  Also, electric can openers, wall outlet covers/protectors, nightlights, and 48- or 64-gallon Rubbermaid storage containers.   Please put these donations on the cart under the left side of the coat rack. City bus tickets for adults, gift certificates to movies, Hickory Dickory Dock, and Chuck E. Cheese, gas cards, prepaid phone cards, and gift cards to Wal-Mart, Target, and grocery stores are all welcome as well, but these need to be mailed or delivered to the Family Guidance Center at 17 Hwy 70 SE, Hickory, 28602, next to McDonalds.  Thanks for caring about those less fortunate and in need of our assistance!

This celebration was prepared by the World Day of Prayer Committee of Malaysia.  The theme of this service is “Let Justice Prevail!”  The guest speaker will be Jeremy Fisher.  He was born and raised in Malaysia, the product of Lutheran missionaries.  He stays in constant contact with friends and associates in Malaysia and Signapore.  This event is sponsored by more than 15 area churches.  Child care will be provided.  Refreshments will be served after the service.  Questions?  Call Carole Marmorato at 828-256-8956.
