The Hickory Soup Kitchen is asking for your help.  Did you know the Soup Kitchen  provides hot lunches to approximately 200 underprivileged people each weekday, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas Day?   To help homeless and struggling families one step further, the Hickory Soup Kitchen will now accept homemade soup, and one-dish meals or casseroles.  Please consider making an “extra” pot of soup or food and donate a container, or several, to the Soup Kitchen.  The guidelines are:  Use only disposable containers (they cannot be returned to the donor); Fresh or frozen homemade food is acceptable; and Label the container with major ingredients.)  Austin Pearce,  Soup Kitchen Director says, “The meals go very fast, so the more we get the better.  It has been a very valuable tool in helping our folks who live in tents!”

You may drop off your food donation between 9:00-11:00 AM, Monday through Friday at the Hickory Soup Kitchen, 131 Main Avenue NE, Hickory.  Phone:  828.327.4828
