Sacraments

The seven sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist, Confirmation, Matrimony, Holy Orders and the Anointing of the Sick touch all stages and all the important moments of Christian life.  They give birth and increase, healing and mission to the Christian’s life of faith.  There is thus a certain resemblance between the stages of natural life and the stages of the spiritual life.

Specific information for each of the sacraments is provided in the respective webpages on the sacraments.

Anyone interested in preparing for the sacraments should call the parish office 828-327-2341.  Sacraments for older children:  non-traditional age Catholic children who need to prepare for sacraments are mainstreamed into the normal parish program for their age and then receive additional instruction from a catechist.  To inquire about becoming one of these catechists, please call the parish office.
