Registration

Perpetual adoration is a devotional practice in the Catholic Church of the faithful adoring and praying in the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament twenty-four hours a day.  The only time the Blessed Sacrament is not exposed is during the Triduum, the most important days of the liturgical year.  The Easter Triduum begins on Holy Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and ends on Easter Sunday evening at 8 p.m. during which time the Adoration Chapel will be closed.

Please visit our Adoration Chapel and consider becoming an Adorer. You are invited to drop in to pray, bring your thoughts, concerns or questions to Our Lord or just sit and enjoy being in his presence. Many adorers experience a feeling of inner peace during their assigned hour. The Chapel also has a library located to the right of the Entry Parlor that contains Bibles, Prayer Books and Christian Literature. Books may be borrowed but must be returned.

The Adoration Chapel is located at 118 9th Ave. next to the Rectory. The entry code is made available to assigned Adorers and substitute Adorers or by contacting the Church office during regular business hours.  

Scheduled Hour

Every Adorer determines which hour best meets their personal needs.  If you are unavailable to attend, you are responsible for finding a replacement.  If you know beforehand that you will not be available on a certain day, you can ask a family member or friend to fill in for you or you can try switching to another day with an Adorer in your same timeslot.  If you cannot find a substitute to cover your hour, contact the Adorers scheduled before or after you to see if they are receptive to covering at least part of your scheduled time.  Most Adorers are willing to stay an additional half hour, if necessary.  If another Adorer is also scheduled for your timeslot, do not assume they will be there, contact them directly to ensure they will be in attendance.

 If no Adorer shows up to relieve you and you must leave, please be sure to cover the Blessed Sacrament with the Monstrance Cover located on the glass shelves to the right of the altar.  

We all know that things happen in life; e.g., people move, schedules change, responsibilities change, illnesses arise, so if you find that you need to change your timeslot or can no longer participate, please contact the Adoration Chapel Coordinators at This email address is being protected from spambots. Chapel Rules

Please sign in when entering the Adoration Chapel.  All scheduled Adorers, substitutes and/or guests should sign in before entering the Adoration Chapel. 

As you enter or leave the chapel, the proper sign of respect to the Blessed Sacrament is a simple genuflection with the right knee touching the ground beside the left heel.  If you are not physically able to genuflect, a deep bow is permitted.  Please observe silence while in the chapel at all times.

Candles, food and beverages, except for water, are not permitted in the Adoration Chapel.  Gum is never permitted.  Please remember that this is God’s house and should be treated with dignity and respect.  Parents and caregivers are encouraged to bring children to visit Jesus but they must be supervised.  You may wish to bring books to occupy their time.  Please do not feed your child(ren) in the Chapel.  This is also a good time to teach them quiet reverence and love for Jesus and respect for other Adorers in the Chapel.  All children under the age of 16 must always be accompanied by an adult.  Please be sure to clean up after yourself (and your children) before leaving. 

Any missals or books removed from the Entry Parlor or Library should be returned before leaving.  All Library books are color coded and should be put back into the same section from which they were removed.  Also, kneelers are for kneeling and should never be used as foot rests. 

No materials of any kind should be left in the Chapel without prior approval as the Chapel is not a depository for items you do not want.  Anyone wishing to donate items to the Chapel should bring them to the Office during normal working hours for evaluation and further disposition.

Daylight Saving Time Changes (Spring forward, Fall back)

In the Spring we lose an hour when switching from Eastern Standard Time to Daylight Savings Time which means that the Adorer scheduled for 2 AM is not required to attend on the Sunday when we switch back to Daylight Savings Time. The scheduled hours will be: 12 AM, 1 AM, 3 AM, 4 AM, etc. 

In the Fall we gain an extra hour when switching from Daylight Savings Time back to Eastern Standard Time.  The change occurs at 2:00 AM which means there are now two hours between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM requiring an Adorer.  The regularly scheduled 2:00 AM Adorer is responsible for the first 2:00 AM shift and the Coordinator will ensure that the second hour of the 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM time period is covered. The scheduled hours will be 12 AM, 1 AM, 2 AM (regular Adorer), 2 AM (Coordinator), 3 AM, 4 AM, etc.

Restroom

A restroom is available. Out of respect for the next person who needs to use the facility, please ensure the restroom is clean before exiting.  

In Case of Emergency

If you experience any problems during your Adoration hour such as illness or physical threat, please call 911 for assistance. If you encounter any other type of suspicious activity, forms are available in the racks on the table in the Entry Parlor that you should complete and return to the Church Office.

If you become aware of a Tornado Warning, please move with the Monstrance to the hallway between the Adoration Chapel and the Restroom. There are no windows and it is the safest place in the Building. We do not recommend your attempting to leave before the Warning is cancelled. In the event of fire, adorers should immediately evacuate the Chapel and move the Monstrance with you to your vehicle until the Pastor arrives.

Security

For security purposes, the door to the Adoration Chapel must always remain locked. For your added protection, Security Cameras are located in the Adoration Chapel.

La adoración perpetua es una práctica devocional en la Iglesia Católica de los fieles que adoran y oran en la Presencia Real de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo en el Santísimo Sacramento las veinticuatro horas del día. El único momento en que no se expone el Santísimo Sacramento es durante el Triduo, los días más importantes del año litúrgico. El Triduo Pascual comienza la tarde del Jueves Santo a las 6 p.m. y termina el Domingo de Pascua a las 8 p.m. tiempo durante el cual la Capilla de Adoración estará cerrada. Visite nuestra Capilla de Adoración y considere convertirse en Adorador. Está invitado a pasar a orar, traer sus pensamientos, inquietudes o preguntas a Nuestro Señor o simplemente sentarse y disfrutar de estar en su presencia. Muchos adoradores experimentan un sentimiento de paz interior durante su hora asignada. La Capilla también tiene una biblioteca ubicada a la derecha del Salón de Entrada que contiene Biblias, Libros de Oración y Literatura Cristiana. Los libros pueden ser prestados pero deben ser devueltos. La Capilla de Adoración está ubicada en 118 9th Ave. al lado de la Rectoría. El código de entrada está disponible para las Adoratrices asignadas y las Adoratrices sustitutas o comunicándose con la oficina de la Iglesia durante el horario comercial habitual.

Hora Programada

Cada Adoratriz determina qué hora se adapta mejor a sus necesidades personales. Si no está disponible para asistir, usted es responsable de encontrar un reemplazo. Si sabe de antemano que no estará disponible en un día determinado, puede pedirle a un familiar o amigo que lo sustituya o puede intentar cambiar a otro día con un Adorer en su mismo horario. Si no puede encontrar un sustituto para cubrir su hora, comuníquese con las Adoratrices programadas antes o después de usted para ver si están dispuestas a cubrir al menos parte de su tiempo programado. La mayoría de las Adoratrices están dispuestas a quedarse media hora más, si es necesario. Si otro Adorador también está programado para su horario, no asuma que estará allí, contáctelo directamente para asegurarse de que estará presente. Si no aparece ningún Adorador para relevarlo y debe irse, asegúrese de cubrir el Santísimo Sacramento con la Cubierta de Custodia ubicada en los estantes de vidrio a la derecha del altar. Reglas De Capilla

Regístrese al ingresar a la Capilla de Adoración. Todos los Adoratrices, sustitutos y/o invitados programados deben registrarse antes de ingresar a la Capilla de Adoración. Al entrar o salir de la capilla, la señal adecuada de respeto al Santísimo Sacramento es una simple genuflexión con la rodilla derecha tocando el suelo al lado del talón izquierdo. Si no es físicamente capaz de hacer una genuflexión, se permite una reverencia profunda. Por favor guarde silencio mientras esté en la capilla en todo momento. Velas, alimentos y bebidas, excepto agua, no están permitidos en la Capilla de Adoración. La goma de mascar nunca está permitida. Recuerde que esta es la casa de Dios y debe ser tratada con dignidad y respeto. Se alienta a los padres y cuidadores a traer niños a visitar a Jesús, pero deben ser supervisados. Es posible que desee traer libros para ocupar su tiempo. Por favor, no alimente a su(s) hijo(s) en la Capilla. Este es también un buen momento para enseñarles la reverencia y el amor silenciosos por Jesús y el respeto por otras Adoratrices en la Capilla. Todos los niños menores de 16 años deben estar siempre acompañados por un adulto. Asegúrese de limpiar usted (y sus hijos) antes de irse. Cambios de Horario de Ahorro de Luz Diurna(Primavera:1 hora hacia adelante; Otoño : 1 hora hacia Atrás)

En la primavera, perdemos una hora cuando cambiamos del horario estándar del este al horario de verano, lo que significa que la Adoradora programada para las 2 a. m. no está obligada a asistir el domingo cuando volvemos al horario de verano. El horario previsto será: 00:00, 01:00, 03:00, 04:00, etc. En el otoño, ganamos una hora adicional cuando cambiamos del horario de verano al horario estándar del este. El cambio ocurre a las 2:00 a. m., lo que significa que ahora hay dos horas entre las 2:00 a. m. y las 3:00 a. m. que requieren un Adorador. El Adorador de las 2:00 a. m. programado regularmente es responsable del primer turno de las 2:00 a. m. y el Coordinador se asegurará de que se cubra la segunda hora del período de 2:00 a. m. a 3:00 a. m. Los horarios previstos serán las 00:00, 01:00, 02:00 (Adoradora habitual), 02:00 (Coordinadora), 03:00, 04:00, etc

Baño

Un baño está disponible. Por respeto a la próxima persona que necesite usar las instalaciones, asegúrese de que el baño esté limpio antes de salir.

En Caso de Emergencia

Si experimenta algún problema durante su hora de Adoración, como una enfermedad o una amenaza física, llame al 911 para obtener ayuda. Si encuentra cualquier otro tipo de actividad sospechosa, hay formularios disponibles en los estantes sobre la mesa en el salón de entrada que debe completar y devolver a la oficina de la iglesia. Si se da cuenta de una Advertencia de Tornado, muévase con la Custodia al pasillo entre la Capilla de Adoración y el Baño. No hay ventanas y es el lugar más seguro del Edificio. No recomendamos que intente salir antes de que se cancele la Advertencia. En caso de incendio, los adoradores deben evacuar inmediatamente la Capilla y trasladar la Custodia con usted a su vehículo hasta que llegue el Párroco.

Security

Por motivos de seguridad, la puerta de la Capilla de Adoración debe permanecer siempre cerrada. Para su protección adicional, las cámaras de seguridad están ubicadas en la Capilla de Adoración.
